Amazon Black Friday 2021: Our top deal picks

Shop smart this Black Friday, only ordering what you can afford or need (Picture: Bloomberg via Getty Images)

Amazon’s Black Friday deals can work out the cheapest on the market, but you still need to be a clever shopper to save.

We’ve all been guilty of a frenzied sweep across the site, only to realise when the packages arrive that we didn’t even need what we bought – or didn’t get the bargain we expected.

To save yourself cash (and from buyer’s remorse) it’s best to track deals and only buy what you need.

That’s why we’ve rounded up the top price drops across Amazon for Black Friday week, many of which are already live.

That way, if there’s anything you’re on the hunt for, you’ll know how much you can get for your pre-Christmas cash.

Amazon devices tend to see the biggest savings, but you can also save up to 40% off tech, branded cookware, vacuums, and gaming.

With new – and limited-time – offers popping up throughout the week, check your Amazon homepage for specific offers. These ones, however, are shoppable now, with Black Friday prices lasting until November 29.

Metro.co.uk’s Black Friday shopping sense check

We love to bring you the best available bargains for Black Friday, but don’t want you to go into debt or suffer financial hardship as a result.

When shopping the sales, ask yourself these questions to ensure you’re buying smart:

  • Do I need this? If your cooker has broken and needs replaced, this would be an essential purpose, while a new smoothie maker or air fryer is a desire not a need.
  • Can I afford this? If you need to put something on credit – or put off essential spending to purchase it – you can’t afford it. If it’s a ‘want’ purchase, that means you should avoid. If it’s a ‘need’ purchase, look for the most affordable option.
  • Am I buying for the sake of it? Whether it’s a gift or something for yourself, consider if you’re buying just to take advantage of discounts. For the environment and your bank balance, try to buy with intention. This could mean fewer, better quality garments you actually love (instead of throwaway trend-led fashion), or only buying gifts you know will be treasured, rather than disposable trinkets.
