An Indiana couple was arrested and charged after they allegedly “sold” their 13-year-old daughter to a man who wanted to marry her.
Sadid Mot and his wife Se Dar Bar were charged with child selling, neglect of a dependent after it was discovered that they tried to sell their daughter. Additionally, officers in Allen County also charged 27-year-old Zee Kdee Ya, the man who wanted to marry the couple’s underage daughter. He faces felony charges of child solicitation and neglect of a dependent.
According to an arrest affidavit, the victim didn’t want to marry Zee Kdee Ya and was forced to against her will back in Dec 20, 2020. On their “wedding day”, the victim told a friend and her friend informed police. She also refused to have sex with Zee Kdee Ya and he would try to convince her by quoting various verses from the Bible.
The victim’s mother said her daughter was allegedly getting engaged and she wouldn’t get married until she was 18. Additionally, Zee Kdee Ya provided $2,000 so she and her husband could prep for the wedding.
A DCS worker and two of her colleagues also said she warned the couple about the plan several times due to the state law.
