Gold Coast man in 30s with ‘probable’ COVID-19 dies suddenly

Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr John Gerrard says a man in his late 30s with “probable” COVID-19 died suddenly in his Gold Coast home last night.

This comes as the state recorded 4,249 new COVID cases.

Dr Gerrard said the case would be referred to the coroner.

“Our thoughts are with his family,” he said during a media conference on Monday.
