The Curiosity Mars rover has found its most numerous and plentiful trove but of natural molecules wanted to maintain life.

The molecules, which include the sulphur and carbon that life would have wanted if it ever existed on Mars, have been well-preserved within the clay minerals of the Gale Crater, a 155-kilometre-wide suspected former lake.
