An infectious diseases expert expects Queensland’s COVID cases to peak by the end of the month.
The peak is likely to last weeks instead of months due to the transmissibility of the virus.
Cases are expected to increase in the coming days as more people come forward for testing.
The Sunshine State recorded 3,587 cases on Sunday.
Elective surgeries have been cancelled as around 330 health workers have the disease and about 720 are in quarantine.
